Morning Golfers,

I hope that this communication finds you all warm and dry.

Unfortunately this wet weather hasn’t been ideal for our course condition over the past week. Jeff & our greens staff are doing the best they can to keep the course in a playable condition but with the ongoing wet weather it is making it difficult. Any updates on the course playability and changes to competition will continue to be posted on the MiClub Portal and we encourage members to check-in to the portal from time to time to stay across any developments and updates.

As most are aware, we have a Temporary Green in play in the 4th Hole whilst the 4th green undergoes some work, rest and recovery. The 4th green hasn’t faired too well in the recent wet weather and floods and the decision has been made to protect this green until it is ready to go back into play. The green staff have however been making a considered effort too provide us with a payable surface on the Temp 4th, but again wet weather has hampered their efforts.

The idea was floated to bring in a Temporary Local Rule for this green under the terms of an “Automatic Two Putt” once you ball reaches the defined green. This option was initially reviewed by the committee but has been declined. The reason behind such is, any Local Rule Temp or Permanent cannot contravene the Rules of Golf. If we were to put this rule in to play, any score recorded under the terms of this local rule would not be able to be submitted and recorded against your handicap and as such we feel that we would be better served not having such a rule in play.

However, there are some existing rules of golf that would be beneficial for all members to be across in light of this wet weather we are experiencing. Please see some link below for you review:

Lets hope for easing of this rain shortly and I look forward to seeing you on course.

Cheers,

Chris Johnston
