Good Afternoon Members

I hope that this message finds you all well and rested following our short sabbatical from golf over the past few weeks.

We really pleased and see members back on course this week and are excited that our first Saturday round back following the floods is our annual Diggers Day Event.

For those newer members that haven’t had the opportunity of participating in the competition before, it is a great day on course for a even better cause. We will as normal, have our novelty holes on 7th for a NTP along with 15th as a longest/straightest drive. There is nothing like some friendly banter on course when there is some on money on the line. We are also please to introduce a new daily event on the 16th that will be operating as a graded nearest in two. Along with welcoming back the Pro Pin Event.

You will also see (and hopefully smell) the BBQ that will be fired up on the deck from the 7am in the morning serving Sausage Sandwiches through until about 2pm. There is also a cracking line up of raffles prizes to be won on the day, so please be sure to get your tickets.

The Men’s Golf Committee are also please to advised that we have been granted Formal Authority to Fundraise on Behalf of Legacy and the proceeds raised on the day will be donated to this wonderful organisation. The committee would also like to acknowledge not only Legacy for supplying some of the prizes on offer in the raffles, but also:

  • Windsor RSL
  • Our very own PGA Professional Luke O’Carrigan
  • Elders Insurance Penrith
  • Carpet Court Castle Hill

These businesses along with the support from the RSL & Luke,  will be funding the BBQ along with the Raffle Prizes and the Prizes on offer on the 16th Hole. What this means, is that 100% of the funds raised on the day will be donated directly to Legacy and we look forward to sharing this amount with you!!!!!

We encourage all members to participate in the great event if possible, whilst also acknowledging the reason why we hold the event. Please note that the BBQ and the Novelty Holes will be a cash only participation, so please put some coins and small notes in the bag for you round.

The committee also invites all members to attend the club at the conclusion of the days round to participate in our annual Diggers Day Ceremony to acknowledge and remember the significance of ANZAC Day and the meaning behind the event.

We also look forward to seeing you all at the club on Saturday.

Regards,

Chris Johnston
